How does litter end up in your River?
The Cahaba River is one of the most biologically diverse rivers in north America. Running through the heart of Alabama, it passes through some of the state's most populated areas. This leaves it vulnerable to many types of pollution, including litter. Most of the trash in the litter starts on land where it is carried into the River by wind and rain. This video series, produced by the Cahaba River Society for the Big Cahaba Cleanup--a one day clean up of over 50 river miles from Trussville to Helena--was created to show how litter pollution enters the river and what you can do to stop it.
See the unique creations of Elaine Tindl-Rohr! The free face painting is always one of the best ways to get into the spirit of Fry-Down.
